Chaul End and Downside ensures that great care is taken to present meals where the food is cut into small pieces enabling your child to eat enjoyably and safely. For these reasons, we have our own strict regulations regarding food shape i.e. we do not serve your child whole grapes, cherry tomatoes, large slices of apple or any other food with potential to cause difficulty in swallowing.
Meals will be served at appropriately sized tables and chairs with child size bowls, plates and cutlery.
Children will be encouraged to try new and varied food. Children are given the opportunity to help themselves to more from the platters.
Children are encouraged to wash their hands before meal times and snack times. During meal times staff will act as good role models for the children displaying healthy eating habits.
