Parents Forum

Parents are invited to take part in termly Parent Forum Meetings - it is an opportunity to meet with the Manager of Chaul End and Downside to discuss any issues of concerns, interest, whether specifically related to us or to wider education and care issues.

At Chaul End and Downside we value the views of and opinions of our parents. There is a strong emphasis on what we can do together to make the children's environment and learning journey the best it can possibly be.

The Parent Forum is run in an extremely professional manner with detailed Minutes and Agendas being sent prior to each meeting, and all the points and actions clearly detailed.

Parent Forum enables parents to meet, share ideas and feedback to the Nursery and Pre-School. The Parent Forum gives parents a voice and enables them to contribute to Nursery, Pre-School decisions.

Downside Children's Preschool have been taking into account the parent feedback we have been receiving during this new year, and as a team we have thought about the changes we can make in order to fulfil each child’s learning needs at Pre-school. We believe it is very important to implement your ideas into our daily routine, in a fun and educational way. Here are some changes we have made after listening to you.

If we could focus more on letters & sounds with children during session

Children now have focus phonics group session with their key person every Monday’s.

Could we have a more efficient way of keeping up to date with events & information?

We have introduced an
E newsletter system, to give information to parents on a regular basis through their email, at anytime.

Children need an improved cleanliness facility available to them, throughout the day

We have placed encouraging hygiene posters & resources so children can help themselves after using the toilet e.g. soap dispensers, hand dryers & towels, staff members are here to make sure it happens efficiently.

There should be homework tasks, so parents can get involved and see what their child is learning

We have introduced home learning sheets that are given to all children on Fridays, to improve their performance & get parents involved to see what they can do outside a learning environment
